Nandlal Singh is an aspiring youth leader & a ground level Social worker who works for the common people for their social upliftment as well as a frontrunner philanthropist helping the needy at any contingency in the State of Odisha since 1999 Super Cyclone. Started his career as a dynamic Student Leader of Ravenshaw (Autonomous) College from where he completed his Graduation & Post Graduation, he have a impactful contributions for the society in the leadership roles at many organizations (Labour Unions, Yadav Community, Aapravasi Communities, NGOs & Other Social Organizations). Considering his vast experience Honorable Chief Minister of Odisha Shri Naveen Patnaik Ji has appointed him as the State Convenor of BJD Aapravasi Sammukhya. Apart from his political assignments he is also the General Secretary of Paradip Port Shramik Sangha and State Youth Coordinator of Utkal Yadav Mahasabha. He is also the Founder & Chairman of Kalinga Aid Foundation a non Profit organization working specifically in the field of Relief & Rehabilitation.

Role in the Bahanaga Train Accident

While having a major role in arranging the immediate necessary things (e.g Water Bottles & Chairs ) along with his team at SCB Medical campus in the night of accident he was continuously present at the Help Desk of Cuttack District Administration working not only as the interpreter but also assuring the victims family members that they are not alone. He has not only assisted financially to the victim’s family members but also motivated the administration to come forward in doing necessary arrangements for them. He had played an important role in reunion of more than 20 patients with their family members. Along with his team he was also coordinating with Railway Officials & State Govt. Officials at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar for proper handover of dead bodies to the family members. Simultaneously he was also successfully motivating other Social Organisations to help the victims at their best.

Role during Lockdown & COVID – 19

Through his Kalinga Aid Foundation team Food Packets were regularly distributed on daily basis at Sishu Bhawan Hospital at Cuttack for more than 6 months. He had also helped the Cuttack Administration / DCP Cuttack in necessary arrangements (Food , Milk, Medicine, Water & Finance) for the Guest labourers who were walking through Roads. A transit camp was organised at Gopalpur Cuttack from where the Guest labourers were sent to the nearest border through buses arranged by the administration. Apart from that online Slot booking for Vaccination for poor people were arranged by his different teams. Also monthly Grocery were supplied free of cost to more than 1000 families of workers from Paradip Port Shramik Sangha. During the Lockdown his team has played a constructive role in arranging food, Medical needs & Blood for needy patients while abiding Covid protocols.

Other Social Works

As it is well known that Odisha is a Cyclone affected State where almost every alternate year a Cyclone comes apart from Flood & Drought. He and his team always give their best in assisting people and Govt Machinery without doing any advertisement. They believe on the thought process that Social work should be done with humility. Apart from Relief and Rehabilitation his team also do plantation programmes & Blood donation. To help the victims of the recent Bahanaga train accident his team has effectively collected more than 200 units of blood at SCB Blood Bank.
